Cosmetology Course Outline

Entrance/Admission Requirements

  • All applicants must be at least 16 years old.
  • Official high school transcript showing graduation date, or
  • Official GED passing scores or certificate.
  • Picture ID and Social Security card with number.
  • Alien Registration Card/INS Proof or other documentation (if required).

Note: A high school diploma or GED from a foreign country must be translated and notarized.

Program Objective

The Affinity Hair Program is designed to equip students with industry tools and help develop their skills, including client relationship-building. The program focuses on mastering color, cut, styling, relaxing, shaving, business, and more. Our goal is to help students not only earn a certificate but also build a career path.

Measurable Performance Objectives

  • Complete the required number of clock hours of training.
  • Pass all practical graduation requirements and projects including exams.
  • Satisfactorily pass final written and practical exams.
  • Receive a graduation certification or plaque.
  • Pass the state board exam.

Program Description

Our cosmetology classes prepare Future Professionals in design, cutting, coloring, multicultural techniques, makeup, fashion trends, manicuring, and the art of hairdressing. The program includes 1,200 hours to meet Florida licensing requirements.

BAR 135 Haircutting/Hairstyles – The student learns all necessary techniques of hair cutting and styling for women and men including but not limited to taper cuts, fades, flat tops, and standard haircuts using scissor over comb, clipper over comb, and freehand techniques. The student will learn all fourteen standard positions and strokes and hair replacements. Hours: 200 Hours: 250
