Why NACCAS Accreditation Transforms Your Beauty Education & Career
Choosing the right cosmetology and barbering school is the single most critical decision in your beauty journey. At Affinity Hair Academy in Orlando, FL, our accreditation by the National Accrediting Commission of Career Arts & Sciences (NACCAS) represents the gold standard of academic excellence, institutional integrity, and student career success.
What is NACCAS Accreditation?
The National Accrediting Commission of Career Arts and Sciences (NACCAS) is an autonomous, non-profit accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of Education. NACCAS holds beauty, cosmetology, and barbering institutions to rigorous national benchmarks across curricula, instructor licensing, student completion rates, and job placement performance.
Attending an unaccredited school can restrict your eligibility for federal funding and make transferring clock hours difficult. Choosing an accredited institution ensures your training meets strict federal and professional criteria.
Key Benefits of NACCAS Accreditation for Students
Here is how our accredited status directly benefits your education, financial investment, and future career:
1. Eligibility for Federal Financial Aid (FAFSA®)
Accredited status enables eligible students to apply for federal grants (such as the Federal Pell Grant, which does not have to be repaid) and federal student loans under Title IV of the Higher Education Act.

NACCAS performs regular evaluations of our curriculum, classroom technology, student-to-teacher ratios, and real-world clinic floor practices. You gain current skills in hair styling, coloring, skincare, and barbering.
3. Higher Standing with Orlando Employers
Salons, spas, and premier barbershops across Central Florida recognize that graduates from accredited schools have completed structured clock hours and rigorous hands-on training that prepares them for state board examinations.
4. Transferable Clock Hours & State Reciprocity
If you ever relocate or seek licensure in another state, documented hours completed at a NACCAS-accredited school are recognized more readily by out-of-state licensing boards.
