These programs aim to make higher education more accessible and affordable.
Death Benefits for Survivors
Eligibility
Spouses or dependents of deceased Florida National Guard and U.S. Armed Forces members.
Benefit
Tuition waivers equal to tuition, matriculation, and registration fees.
Coverage
Up to 120 credit hours or 3,600 clock hours.
Congressman C.W. Bill Young Tuition Waiver Program
1. Eligibility
Honorably discharged veterans residing inFlorida while enrolled.
2. Benefit
Waiver of out-of-state tuition and fees.
3. Documentation
Proof of Florida residence and honorable discharge required.
Active Duty Military Waiver
1. In State Residency
Granted to active duty military members, spouses, and dependents.
2. Location Requirement
Must reside in Florida or attend within 50 miles of a military establishment.
3. Florida National Guard
Active drilling members also granted in-state residency for tuition.
Purple Heart Recipient Waiver
Eligibility
Florida veterans with Purple Heart or superior combat decoration.
Coverage
Tuition waiver up to 110% of required program hours.
Limitations
Does not cover textbooks, housing, or food.
Fee Waiver for Disabled Veterans
1. Eligibility
Disabled veterans receiving GI Bill® assistance but not 100% eligibility.
2. Benefit
Waiver covers difference between federal assistance and fulltuition.
3. Application
